Club News update April 19th

The Seniors suffered a 1-14 to 2-13 defeat to Roscommon Gaels in the League on Sunday. They host Western Gaels on Sunday at 12pm.

An understrength Junior team were defeated by St Aidans on a scoreline of 2-10 to 1-8. They are away to Castlerea’s B team on Saturday at 4pm. Bon voyage to Dean Feely who is moving to America this week.
The Elphin-Ballinameen Minors suffered a 1-13 to 1-8 defeat away to St Ciarans. They host Éire Óg in the Orchard on Friday at 7pm.

The U-16s host Kilglass Gaels-St Barrys in an important play-off game this evening (Tuesday) at 7pm and your support would be appreciated.

The U-14s were defeated by Kilmore-Shannon Gaels on a scoreline of 7-17 to 6-5.

The U-12s played out a very entertaining draw away to St Dominics. Although they were missing 7 players everyone stepped up and put in an heroic performance. Best for the team were Daniel Christie in goals, Darragh Gilligan at full back, Darragh O’ Callaghan half back, Sam & Jude O’ Rourke, Dylan Scott, Adam Twocock, John Finnerty – who scored 8 points from play and Alex Kielty, who scored a “Messi like” goal. They host Oran in the Orchard on Saturday at 12pm.

Coaching for U-10, U-8 and U-6s continues on Saturday at 10am. Parents are reminded that all players must wear a mouth guard.

The Club is holding a Merchandise Day this Saturday in the Orchard Park between 10 and 11.30am. There will be samples on display and orders will be taken on the day. Orders can also be taken by emailing [email protected]

The Club wishes Cathal Murray a speedy recovery following his recent accident.

There was no winner of Saturday’s Club Lotto Jackpot – numbers drawn were 3, 5, 12 and 19. The Lucky Dip winners were Pudsy McKeon, Gerard Beirne, Ronan Gavigan and Deirdre Burke. This week’s Draw will be held in Olivers and the Jackpot stands at €6,700, play now at locallotto.ie
