Elphin GAA AGM
Thank you to all who attended our AGM, which took place on Sunday afternoon in the Clubrooms at the Orchard Park. Chairperson Sean Lenehan and Secretary Una Killoran reviewed the year gone by and paid tribute to the departing Officers. The following were elected – President: Noel Collins; Chairperson: Sean Lenehan; Vice Chairperson, Martin Travers; Secretary, Una Killoran: Assistant Secretary, Geraldine O’Connor; PRO: Colm Beirne; Coaching Officer: John Kelly; Minor Chairperson: Jim McLoughlin; Minor Secretary: Kathleen McCaffrey; Committee Members: David Hynes, Majella Lee, Ignatius Geraghty and Colm Finnerty.
The roles of Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer (Lotto Co-Ordinator) and Parks Committee Chair remain vacant. Anyone interested is finding out more about same is encouraged to contact any member of the Committee.
A proposal to form a Social Committee was approved and the Club will host a Social Night on Thursday December 29th – more details to follow. Plans to develop our second Five Year Plan, for 2017 – 2021, and a follow-up on the “Couch to 5K” Challenge early in the New Year were also welcomed.
Junior Team
Martin Beirne has stepped down from his role as Junior Team Manager, the Club thanks Martin and all involved with the team over the past few years for the great role they have played in developing players for the Senior Team.
Elphin-Ballinameen Underage Round-up
The Elphin-Ballinameen Under 20s play St Croans n the County Semi-Final on Sunday at 12pm in Castlerea. Your support would be greatly appreciated. A very enjoyable presentation evening was held in the Community Centre on Sunday evening with the Elphin-Ballinameen U12, 14 and 16 teams and the 2015 Elphin U16 Team being presented with their respective medals. Many thanks to all the Coaches, Parents and Players who turned up on the night. A special word of thanks to our MC Gordon Murray and Special Guest Fintan Cregg.
Elphin GAA Lotto
There was no winner of Saturday’s Club Lotto Jackpot, the numbers drawn were 1, 5, 18 and 22. The Lucky Dip winners of €25 were Sean Farrell, Dublin; Leone Carney, Orchard Grove; Diana Beirne, Carrontogher and Anne Sheerin, Ballyfarnon. The Jackpot now stands at €9,900 and this Saturday’s Draw will be held in The Tower Inn. Entry to the Lotto is just €2 and Draw Envelopes are available in local Shops or click here to play now.
