Elphin-Kilmore Ladies Football update

Under 14s defeated:

The Elphin-Kilmore Ladies Football season came to a close on Sunday when the U14s were narrowly defeat by Clann na nGael in the Division 1B Championship Final. With a great display of heart, scores, blocks, point-blank saves and unlucky shots off the posts, this game had everything. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be our day and despite leading by five points at half-time Clann fought back to add to their Division 1 League and Feile titles. It ended Elphin-Kilmore 3-5 Clann na nGael 2-10. These teams last met in the Division 1 League Semi-Final in June where we suffered a heavy defeat. However, last Sunday our girls showed how much they have improved since under the guidance of Martin Higgins and Damian Devaney.
The team is pictured above wearing sponsored top supporting the Childhood Cancer Foundation. Their Team Jerseys were sponsored by Noel Dowd AI. Thank you to both sponsors.

Looking back:

2017 has proved to be a great year for the development of underage Ladies Football in Elphin. Our partnership with Kilmore LGFA had seen all four teams do well. The U12s won the Division 3B Championship, the U14s were Division 1 League Semi-Finalist and Division 1B Championship runners-up. The U16s were Division 2B Championship winners and the U18s were Division 3 Championship runners-up.
We extend best wishes to all the girls who will continue their football over the winter months with the various Roscommon LGFA U13, U15 and U17 Development Squads.

Thank you:

On behalf of all the girls and their parents both Elphin LGFA and Kilmore LGFA would like to sincerely thank both Elphin and Kilmore GAA clubs for generously making both the Orchard Park and Kilmore pitches available for games and training throughout the year. Finally a big thank you to the various sponsors and all who helped out during the year with coaching, fundraising, washing jerseys, supporting and to our.

AGM:

A Date for the Club AGM will be confirmed shortly.
