Elphin GAA Couch to 5k fun finale:
Our 5km Walk-Run takes place on Saturday 26th May at 12pm meeting at the Orchard Park new dressing rooms. Everybody is welcome and you can walk/run whatever you feel comfortable at or even just come along the cheer the participants on! This is a family event.
Registration begins at 11am sharp. Entry fee for people who did not participate in the couch to 5k is €10 for Adults and €15 for a family. Refreshments will be provided afterwards in An Bothar Rua.
Adult Football
Hard luck to the seniors who lost out to St Croans in the senior league on a scoreline of 0-11 to 1-9.
The Junior B take on Tulsk on Sunday next in the league the game will take place Sunday at 1pm in the Orchard.
Elphin/Ballinameen Round-up
The U12’s are in the shield final against St. Brigids in the Orchard on Saturday at 2pm and the U16’s are play Roscommon Gaels in the Div 2 Final on Sunday at 6pm in Enfield. The very best of luck to both teams.
The U14s defeated St Michaels by 7-5 to 2-16 in the Shield Semi-Final.
Elphin LGFA
Our first ever u8 & u10 Elphin LGFA teams took to the field for the first time last Monday in the Orchard Park. They each played a challenge game V Shannon Gaels and played their hearts out. It was fantastic to see such a great turnout of both players and spectators for their first performance.
On Wednesday our u14 lost out to St. Dominics in their league game in Kilmore. Their next game is away to Kilbride on Wednesday at 7pm.
Our u12 team who were missing several girls due to illness lost their first championship game in very wet conditions on Sunday evening to a very strong St.Barry’s. All the girls put in a great effort with a special word to the u8 & u10 girls who played. Next game 27th May at home to St. Ciarans at 7pm.

The club would like to thank everyone that attended our Club planning night in An Bothar Rua on Monday night last. Ideas were discussed for the development of the club over the next 3 years. 5 groups have been formed to finalise the plan over the coming weeks with the plan set to be unveiled at a function on Friday July 6th. Thanks to everyone who gave their time on the night and specially to Thomas Murray, County Board development officer for facilitating the meeting.

To Everyone who supported the Car wash Fundraiser, in aid of Elphin/Ballinameen U14’s. The amount raised was €1055, this will go towards providing Training tops for the lads. Thank you to Tony Christie for organising the equipment needed and also Murray’s filling station for allowing the use of their premises.
Elphin GAA Lotto:
There was no winner of this week’s lotto, numbers drawn were 1,2,4 and 20. Lucky dip winners were Brian Sharkey, Bernie McLoughlin, Cathal McCaffrey and Niall Brady. This week’s jackpot will be €6,400. Entry is just €2, Envelopes are available in local shops or you can play here.
