A massive well done to the Elphin Ballinameen U14s who defeated St Ciarans last Friday evening in the Shield Final.

St Ciarans won the toss and opted to play with strong breeze in 1st half. It was a ding dong contest throughout, with both goalkeepers on their toes, making some Wonderful saves,3 Exceptional beauties by Daniel Christie, in that 1st half, which help us to be well in the game at half-time, on a scoreline of St Ciarans 0-6, Elphin/Ballinameen 0-3.
Upon resumption of 2nd half, Elphin/Ballinameen scored 1 great goal through Evan Gunn and a point by John Finnerty, who amassed a total of 7 points, most from distance. It finished up with Elphin/Ballinameen confirmed Champions on a scoreline of St Ciarans 0-6,Elphin/Ballinameen 4-9.
Everyone contributed considerably, with, notable Stand out performances from joint Captains, Adam Dwyer and Henry Dowd, from Dylan Scott, Daniel Christie, Casey Durr, Darragh Callaghan, John Anthony Quinn (who switched from half forward to half back, with wonderful success) Sam O’Rourke and last but by no means least, John Finnerty. All substitutes came on and made outstanding contributions in helping us across the line.
