Elphin GAA Update June 25th

All-Ireland Féile

This weekend is a busy weekend of Feile action starting on Friday at 4.30pm in the Orchard where there are 4 games. We would encourage as many as possible from the Community to come out and support our team in the All Ireland Feile Series. A team from Clara, Co. Kilkenny will be hosted by Elphin-Ballinameen.
Our first match is on Friday at 4:45pm in Elphin with our next match at 6:15pm in Elphin also. We will then be playing on Saturday morning at 10:45am in Elphin. From there it depends how we have done in our first games but we could be playing in Ballygar or Aghamore in Leitrim on Saturday afternoon and if we progress to a semi-final or final they will be on Sunday morning in Claremorris. Best of luck to our Players and Management.

Elphin Ballinameen Underage Round-up

Hard luck to out Elphin Ballinameen U12 B team who lost out to a stronger Boyle B team in the Cup Semi Final.
The U11 children had a enjoyable day out at the Aidan Mc Gowan Memorial Gaelic Football Festival in Sligo. Our thanks to Molaise Gaels for inviting us along to take part.

The Elphin Ballinameen U14’s were defeated on Thursday evening by Eire Og Glaveys in the Garda Cup 1/4 final in a cracking game of attacking football in Ballinlough. The Championship commences in mid July fixtures to be announced soon.

Elphin LGFA:

The U8’s & U10’s groups played Boyle in Elphin Monday evening in the sunshine in two friendly games. Great performances on both sides and fantastic support out for them.

Our U12’s were defeated by Ballinameen in the Group C Final Saturday in Kiltoom. The match was played in warm, sunny conditions with little wind. They played a tight first half only trailing by 1 point at half time. In the second half we lost one of our midfielders to injury. Ballinameen pushed ahead winning the game by 5 points. Well done to all the girls on their great efforts.
