Elphin GAA Update September 14th

We had a very busy week of underage football in Elphin/Ballinameen.
The U8 teams played Tulsk on Monday evening. The U10 team played Strokestown on Thursday evening and yesterday morning the U8 teams and U6 teams played Kilbride. All games ended in a ‘draw’. Well done to all players they all played fantastically and done Elphin Ballinameen very proud! For the U6 players, this was their first game, we hope they have many more years playing football. A big thanks to all our opposing teams and all the coaches and refs who helped out in all the games!

The Minors played St. Michaels on Tuesday evening beating them 2-13 to 8 points. This brought them onto the Semi-Final stage against neighbours Strokestown. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be our day, and lost out to a stronger Strokestown side. We would like to thank all players for their commitment and especially all those that have played their last underage game. We wish them the best of luck and hope to see them move on to senior level. Also thanks to John, Aidan, and Adrian who have given time coaching them.

Our U14’s lost out to a much stronger Castlerea team on Tuesday evening.
The U16’s beat Kilglass Gaels 1-13 to 2-7. They have a BYE this week.
Our U12’s play in the Div 5 Shield Final v St. Ronans on Thursday evening in St. Ronan’s at 7 pm. Best of luck lads.
