Elphin GAA Update May 2nd: Club Planning Forum on Thursday

Elphin GAA club is about to engage in a process to formulate a club plan to guide the priorities and direction of the club over the next three to five years.

We would like all our stakeholders – players, coaches, administrators, parents, supporters, and interested community residents to be involved in this process which will take a root and branch look at the role of the club and how it can function more effectively.

To this end, we would encourage everyone interested in the club to attend a planning discussion forum which will be led by an independent facilitator, the details of which are set out below.

Venue – Function Room, An Bothar Rua.
Date – Thursday, May 4th.
Time – 8 – 10 pm.

Please come along and share your ideas. You will be most welcome.

Adult Round-up

The Elphin junior team lost at home to Faithleachs with a score line that flattered the visitors. Faithleachs dominated the scoreboard in the first half with some very accurate point-taking. Elphin fought back with plenty of possession and had goal chances on at least four occasions only to miss narrowly. The next league game is on May 19th v Boyle.

Elphin Ballinameen Round-up

The U18s played Strokestown on Thursday in the minor league. On a very wet evening, the team played well but were slow getting off the mark but goals by the return to form James Brennan and Daire Tiernan in the second half made for a comfortable win. All players played well in an entertaining game despite the weather. Thanks to Strokestown for their hospitality and for having their pitch look so well. The next game is V Barry’s/Kilglass.

Well done to our U14 Division 3 and Division 4 teams who had good wins over Tulsk and Roscommon Gaels. Our U16 team had good wins also over Kilbride and Clan na nGael. Well done to our minor team who had a good win over Strokestown. All teams continue their league campaigns during the week, please see fixtures for more details.
