Elphin GAA hosted the County Scor na nOg Finals on Saturday evening last. To a fully packed house in Elphin Community Centre, competitors from North and South of the county wowed the audience with their performances. The standard on the night was tremendous in every category. Our own Mick Rock played the part of Fear on Tí brilliantly. Afterwards, incoming Roscommon GAA County Board Chair, Thomas Murray, thanked Elphin GAA and the County Scór Committee, led by Kilmore’s Clare Connellan, for facilitating a tremendous showcase of culture and talent in the County. Elphin took home two titles: Instrumental Music Group and Set Dancing, and will go on to represent the club and county in Connacht in two weeks.
Well done to all our Elphin competitors on the night and to all who took part. Huge thanks to the parents and members of the Elphin Set Dancing Club who provided refreshments, shop facilities and stewarded the hall. Special thanks to Seanie Lambert for all his work in the lead-up and on the night.
