Well done to the Senior/O’Gara Cup team, who had a win 1-15 to 2-10 over Michael Glaveys and to our Junior Tansey Cup team, who had a 1-15 to 1-12 win over Western Gaels at the weekend.
Both teams are out again this weekend, with our Seniors taking on St Faithleachs on Friday evening in Ballyleague at 8 pm, and our Junior/Tansey cup team taking on Castlerea at 6 pm Saturday in Castlerea. Best of luck to both teams and management.
Elphin-Ballinameen Update
The U16s defeated Western Gales in the last round of the league. They top the group and are now awaiting confirmation of the semi-final opponents. The two Elphin Ballinameen teams recently won against Oran/St Croans and Tulsk.
Good Luck to Elphin Ballinameen minors who play Oran/St Croans in Elphin on Tuesday evening at 7.30. The U16s play the league semi-final on Friday evening at home, times and opponents TBC. See https://www.gaaroscommon.ie/matches/football/U16/
The U8s have their first blitz on Saturday morning in St Michael’s. We hope you enjoy the morning. Best of luck to all players and managers in the other games.
Mixed Fortunes for Rounders Teams
Elphin Ladies travelled to Ballinlough to face Michael Glaveys in their second championship game and delivered a strong all-around performance. Tight fielding throughout helped keep the opposition score low, while Elphin played with great determination and teamwork from start to finish. A well-deserved result and another positive step in their championship campaign.
The Junior Men’s team also travelled to Glaveys to take on Galway Raparees. They put in a strong effort and played well throughout, but unfortunately, it wasn’t their day on this occasion. Thank you to Glaveys for the hospitality after the game.
County Representatives
Congratulations to Aaron Brady, Niall Higgins and the Roscommon Senior football team on winning the Connacht Final. Wishing them the best of luck against Tyrone on Sunday.
Hard luck to Cathal Enright and the Roscommon U20 team, who lost out to Kerry in the All-Ireland semi-final last week.
