Elphin GAA Update April 10th

ABC programme concludes

The U6s and U8s completed their indoor ABC sessions on Friday evening. Thanks to Jim Gilligan and Dessie and Sarah Glancy who sponsored tops, footballs, socks and mouth guards to all our ABC members. Thanks also to Liam Butler and Declan Dwyer from the Roscommon masters All-Ireland winning team who presented both teams with their packs. Thanks to all the parents, coaches and in particular our future stars.

Elphin Ballinameen Underage Round-up

The U14 suffered a heavy defeat to St Aidans at the weekend. They are due to play Kilbride this Thursday evening in the Orchard at 7pm. The Minors are away to St Aidans on Friday at 6:30pm.

Adult Football

The Seniors and the Junior’s where both defeated at the weekend. The seniors lost out to Strokestown and Juniors to St Dominics. The Seniors are away to Castlerea on Saturday at 6pm and Juniors away to Kilglass at the same time (that might change)

Elphin LGFA:

Our U16’s are now finished their games until August but are encouraged to continue training in Kilmore with the Juniors.

The U12’s Northern League kicked off Sunday with a home game for us against Shannon Gaels. The girls played a blinder and did their team proud. Next match Sunday 14th away to Boyle at 6pm.

Our U10 girls are hitting for Croke Park next Monday 15th April as they were selected for the 2019 Go Games Activity Day. We wish them all the best and hope for a fun filled day for all.
U10 & U8 training continues Monday’s at 6.30pm in the Orchard.

For anyone interested in getting involved in coaching within our ladies club, Roscommon County Board are hosting a Fundamentals Coaching Course in The Abbey Hotel, Roscommon on Saturday 13th April.

All-Ireland Scor Finals

The Finals are taking place on Saturday next. We are honoured to be representing club/county and province in 3 categories. The best of luck to everyone. If you wish to go please contact Michael Gunn for tickets or you can pay on the door.

Annual Senior Jersey Sponsor Draw

The Senior Sponsor Draw took place on Friday last in An Bothar Rua. Congratulations and well done to Niall Dockery – Kerokeg on winning the draw and Cryans Hotel, Carrick on Shannon will go on the back of the Jersey. Many thanks to all 232 who contributed to our draw. Also thanks to everyone who sold tickets and Michael Rock for his brilliant commentary on the night and also everyone helped out on the night.

Elphin GAA presents: THE SHOW OF GREATS – it’s our time to shine!

Everybody welcome to come along on Saturday the 20th of April for evening of music, fun and laughter in An Bothar Rua kicking off at 8.30pm. Admission on the night will be €10.

Elphin GAA Lotto

There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 5, 9, 12 & 28.
