Elphin GAA Update May 8th

Adult Football

Well done to the seniors who defeated St Aidans on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-11. Hard luck to the Juniors who were defeated by St Barry’s on Friday evening.

Elphin Ballinameen Underage Round-up

It’s been a very busy week with our underage Elphin Ballinameen teams.

The U12’s Div 2 and Div 5 teams have had great wins over the week beating St. Aidan’s, Kilbride, and St. Barry’s.

U14’s suffered a loss to Kilmore/Shannon Gaels/St. Ronan’s.

The U16’s played the League Semi Final on Saturday beating St. Michaels 7-11 to 2-10. They are now in the Final v St. Dominics on May 15th in Kilbride at 7:30pm

The Minors played the League Quarter Final on Tuesday beating Roscommon Gaels 1-7 to 5 pts
They beat Tulsk in the Semi Finals on Friday evening bringing them onto the Final today. They played their hearts out against a strong Padraig Pearses team, with both sides level at full time. Unfortunately Pearses pulled away in the second half of extra time. Full time score 2-14 to 1-12 . Hard luck to team and management but they did us proud. Wish Gavan Murray a speedy recovery on his injury he picked up.

Congrats to John Finnerty, Evan Gunn, Sam and Jude O’Rourke and Evan Murray on winning the Connacht Colleges C Championship with Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown.
