Elphin U10 2019

Elphin GAA Update September 23rd

Well done to our U10’s who beat Strokestown in the Final of the Shane Kelly Tournament.

The U12 Div 1 team had a great win over St. Dominics. The U12 Div 5 team played Boyle and lost out on a scoreline of loss 9 points to 4. Elphin GAA would like say a big THANK YOU to Stuart & Aisling Waters from The Percy French Hotel for their very kind Sponsorship of a set of Jerseys for our combined U12 Elphin/Ballinameen team

The u14s suffered defeat at the hands of St Brigids on Saturday morning 7-6 to 4-7, they now await the knockout fixtures. Training continues Wednesday evening 6.30pm in the Orchard.

The U16’S kept their chances in the championship alive with a good victory of 2-11 to 0-12 victory over St Faithleachs on Friday evening in Ballyleague.

The Minor team had a very unfortunate loss of a single point to Roscommon Gaels. This was a very exciting game with our lads in front for the duration of the game until Roscommon Gaels scored a goal in the dying moments. Final score was 1-10 to 12pts.

The U12 Div 1 team play Castlerea on Thursday evening at 7pm in Castlerea while the U12 Div 5 play Roscommon Gaels on Sunday morning in Lisnamult at 11am.

The U14’s play Padraig Pearses at 11am in the Orchard on Sunday.

The U16’s are away to St. Aidan’s on Friday evening at 7pm.

Adult Football

Hard luck to the Seniors who lost out to Roscommon Gaels in the Championship Quarter-Final on a scoreline of Elphin 0-11 Roscommon Gaels 2-13. We maintained senior status and we will be back playing division 1 football next year and there’s a Division 2 / O’Gara Cup Final to look forward to. Thank you to team and management for the effort put in.
