In less that two week’s time Elphin’s own Mick Rock will contest the GAA Presidential Election.
In this interview (Below) with Des Cahill he gives his thoughts on the challenges facing the GAA and his vision for the future which will redress current imbalances
Bio
Mick Rock is currently the Chairperson of the National Club Committee (2018 – 2020) and is the former Chairperson of Connacht GAA (2015 – 2018). He served on the Ard Comhairle and Coisite Banisti (2015 – 2018).
Mick was a member of the Roscommon GAA Management Committee for 18 years, serving in a wide range of roles including Youth Officer, Development Officer, Assistant / Fixtures Secretary and PRO.
At Club level he has coached and managed teams from Under 8 to Adult level with his proudest in the GAA moment coming in 2003 as joint-manager of the team which won the Roscommon and Connacht Intermediate Club titles. He has held all Club Officer roles, including three stints as Chairperson.
Mick has also served Clubs all over the country during his time as Comhairle Club Planning Facilitator and Programme Developer. Mick is also a Scór Participant, Coach, Adjudicator, Administrator and Fear an Tí from County to All-Ireland Level
